Fulfilling a number of rumors that a big piece of Beyonce news was on the horizon, Beyonce Knowles has surprised the world by, with no preamble or fanfare, releasing her fifth album, Beyonce, online.
In a surprise move, the singer dropped the album online, guerilla-style, with accompanying videos. The “visual album” is comprised of 14 songs and 17 videos, featuring guest vocals from Frank Ocean, JAY Z, and none other than Blue Ivy. The album is now available on iTunes.
As for the album’s visual aspect, Beyonce had this to say:
“I see music. It’s more than just what I hear…When I’m connected to something, I immediately see a visual or a series of images that are tied to a feeling or an emotion, a memory from my childhood, thoughts about life, my dreams or my fantasies. And they’re all connected to the music.”
