'X Factor' Judges Discuss 'Bizarre' Performances, Infighting

Britney Spears admits the other judges 'ganged up' on her when they disagreed with her critique of a contestant.

Reid and Louis Walsh, the British "X Factor" panelist who has been sitting in for Simon Cowell while he recovers from bronchitis, are in Kansas City, Missouri, as auditions for the second season of the reality singing competition continue. The group gave <a href="http://www.toofab.com/2012/06/11/britney-spears-x-factor-bizarre-auditions-exclusive-video/" target="_blank">their first interview</a> since Spears and Lovato were announced as judges at the Fox upfronts.The judges discussed the "bizarre" performances they've seen, how they get along, whether Spears' and Lovato's careers as performers make them more sympathetic or critical of the contestants, and the one time everyone ganged up on Britney."I feel like we've had a little bit of bizarre performances overall," Spears said of the Kansas City performances. "Britney likes me and Demi likes me," he said.Asked which judge the rest of the team tends to agree with the most, Reid said that Spears has the best eye for contestants that have that special something. "We tend to agree with Britney more than others. Honestly, I'm being funny, but she has amazing taste.""You ganged up on me one time though," Spears quickly countered, half-jokingly. One time, [and] it wasn't nice!""One time out of 75 auditions, that's not bad," Reid replied.As for what makes Spears happiest when judging, she said, "It's the best feeling when someone comes onstage and just makes us want to stand up and gives us energy."Having made their names as entertainers, both Spears and Lovato admitted that their careers have helped them relate to the contestants because they've "been in their shoes." But it's a double-edged sword because it has made both judges more sympathetic to the show's contestants, particularly when they have to deliver bad news."It's something I've definitely had to learn. At first, I really didn't even want to do it," Lovato said of having to criticize contestants. "It's easier to say, when you're having meetings with people, 'Oh yeah, it will totally come easy,' or something. But when I got in the seat and had to give negative criticism to somebody ... it sucks. But they're asking for your advice, and by stepping on that stage, they also know that you could not like their performance. They're taking a chance, and I'm going to take a chance by telling them something that I believe."The interview comes on the heels of news that all four judges <a href="/news/articles/1687014/britney-spears-demi-lovato-x-factor-auditions.jhtml">walked off the set</a> after a disastrous audition in which a contestant — who reportedly wasn't a particularly talented singer — sang with his back to the panel. "It was really awkward," a source told <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20602844,00.html" target="_blank">People.com</a>. A source told the magazine, "She's got a really good instinct, and when she loves something, she looks like she wants to dance on the desk. When she doesn't like someone, she is incredibly tough."For her part, the pop star insists her firm stance is in the best interest of the contestants. "It's all tough love ... I promise!" Usher's Stepson Kile Glover Laid To Rest In Atlanta

Family and friends gathered at the Wieuca Road Baptist Church for 11-year-old's funeral service Friday (July 27).

Family and friends gathered privately in Atlanta on Friday (July 27) to lay to rest young Kile Glover, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/usher/artist.jhtml">Usher Raymond</a>'s 11-year old stepson, who died from injuries suffered in a tragic <a href="/news/articles/1689206/ushers-stepson-declared-brain-dead-after-jet-ski-accident.jhtml">Jet Ski accident</a> earlier this month.Glover was the son of Usher's ex-wife, Tameka Foster, and Atlanta TV executive Ryan Glover. He was struck by a Jet Ski while floating in an inner tube on Atlanta's Lake Lanier on July 6.There was no fanfare outside the Wieuca Road Baptist Church on Peachtree Road where the funeral was held, but inside, the Glover, Foster and Raymond families received tremendous amounts of support from many esteemed members of Atlanta's music and political communities. Ludacris, Jazze Pha and Phaedra Parks from "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" were just some of the celebrities in attendance. The hour-long service began at 11 a.m.<div class="player-placeholder right" title="Usher's Stepson Kile Glover Is Laid To Rest" id="vid:819972" width="415" height="255"></div>Young Kile was airlifted to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, where doctors subsequently pronounced him brain-dead. "We know God's in control, and are leaning on our faith in Him and His word at this most difficult time," the family told CNN in a statement. "We firmly believe in the power of prayer and ask that you all continue to pray and lift Kile up, as it's the best way we can all support him now."Glover passed away on July 21 after being removed from <a href="/news/articles/1690157/usher-stepson-kile-glover-taken-off-life-support.jhtml">life support</a>.Atlanta radio personality and Cash Money record artist DJ Greg Street sent out a tweet immediately after hearing the news of Glover's death, expressing his support for the family. "Lil RG is an Angel now, Ryan, Tameka, Usher & the whole Glover Family we gotta make him proud," he wrote.The man driving the Jet Ski has been identified as 38-year-old Jeffrey S. Hubbard, a friend of the family. Police have determined that no drugs were involved in the accident, and Hubbard has not been charged with a crime. The imprisoned cardiologist <a href="/news/articles/1673906/michael-jackson-conrad-murray-verdict-guilty-involuntary-manslaughter.jhtml">convicted of manslaughter</a>  in the 2009 death of <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/jackson_michael/artist.jhtml">Michael Jackson</a> filed a request on Monday to have a key piece of evidence in his trial re-tested. Dr. Conrad Murray is asking an appellate court to order a lab to authorize a forensic analysis on residue in a drug vial taken from the bedroom of Jackson's rented Los Angeles estate.According to the <a href="http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-0731-murray-20120731,0,2898322.story" target="_blank">Los Angeles Times</a> Murray's defense team thinks that the 100-milliliter bottle, which was a key piece of evidence at the 2011 trial that ended with Murray's conviction on involuntary manslaughter charges, could help lead to a successful appeal of the sentence.Murray's fingerprint was on the bottle, which prosecutors said held the lethal dose of the surgical anesthetic propofol that killed Jackson. Prosecutors had argued that Murray mixed a small amount of propofol with another anesthetic, lidocaine, in an intravenous drip and then left Jackson unattended.Murray's defense team said the vial was in a bag of trash and was unrelated to Jackson's death, countering that the pop icon injected himself with propofol from a syringe while the doctor wasn't looking."If a forensic examination of the residue in Exhibit 30 revealed no lidocaine, it would completely negate [the prosecution expert's] concluding theory ... leaving only the theory of bolus injection just prior to Jackson's death," appellate attorney Valerie Wass wrote in a filing.This is the third time Murray's lawyers have attempted to launch an appeal on these grounds after they argued that they did not fully comprehend the need to test the residue until the testimony of a prosecution expert near the end of the seven-week trial. During the trial, judge Michael Pastor refused a motion for further analysis shortly after the verdict; a second request was also denied.Murray, 58, received a four-year sentence but is not expected to serve more than two years in county jail.

I realized it was almost like a film production; and of course, I kind of figured that it might be an interesting thing to do," he said about the Anthony Mandler-directed video. "I didn't know what to expect... I was surprised... They got me a good wardrobe. That was my shirt though. I brought my own shirt; those kinds of shirts are kind of rare."The story is so much Shakespearian; the couple, they run off together out the window," he later continued. "It's rather like that, I thought that was interesting. And I thought the kid, he had an enormous talent and he was very gracious to my sons and was very gracious to my family."It was actually those sons that convinced the Hawaiian-shirt-wearing "Kill Bill" star to make the video with Bieber. "Well I was surprised at first that the kid was interested in having me be part of his video," he recalled. "I went to my sons and I asked my boys, I asked my sons what they thought if I should if they thought I should do it or not. And, of course, they gently placed their hand on my shoulder and said 'Dad don't you realize who Justin Bieber is?' And I said 'Well, no, actually I didn't.' One Direction’s “Little Things”: Listen Here!

Giving their fans a pre-Halloween treat, One Direction has just released their new single “Little Things” from their forthcoming album Take Me Home.

The song was written by up-and-coming singer/songwriter (and Taylor Swift’s opening act) Ed Sheeran and it drips with melodic goodness.

In a recent interview, Ed explained, "It was written about the best things about someone, kind of like the things you wouldn't expect.”

“You'll have to hear it. I can't really say too much 'cause it's their album. I want them to be the first ones to announce it and stuff,” he added.

Eminem Beats Lady Gaga, Rihanna To 60 Million Facebook Fans

Rapper now has more Facebook "likes" than any other living person.

If you had to guess which artist has the most Facebook "likes," who would you guess? <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml">Lady Gaga?</a> <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber?</a> <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/jackson_michael/artist.jhtml">Michael Jackson?</a> Close, but no cigar.<a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/eminem/artist.jhtml">Eminem</a> recently set the record for the most Likes by a living person with 60.1 million, blowing past the competition and landing at #5 on the list of the top 10 Facebook pages.According to the <a href="http://pagedata.appdata.com/pages/leaderboard/fc/fan_count" target="_blank">App Data</a> page, Eminem is picking up close to 179,000 new Likes a week (or 26,854 a day), edging out <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/rihanna/artist.jhtml/">Rihanna,</a> who has 59.4 million Likes and is gaining around 167,000 "likes" per week pace (or 22,141 a day).The only things blocking the 39-year-old Detroit MC's path to the top are the kinds of wildly popular time suckers that are hard for any flesh-and-blood superstar to pass: YouTube (61.2 million), Texas HoldEm Poker (63.8 million), Facebook itself (70.3 million) and the Facebook for Every Phone page (117.5 million).Where do his fellow pop stars land? Shakira is #8 on the list with 53.3 million Likes (just below "The Simpsons" with 53.8 million), then Lady Gaga at #9 (53 million) and Jackson at #10 (51.1 million). Bieber is down at #15 (45.7 million), just ahead of Katy Perry (#16, 45.5 million), Linkin Park (#17, 44.2 million) and Lil Wayne (#20, 39.8 million). You didn't ask, but we'll tell you that MTV is at #27 (36 million).Slim Shady might be the Facebook king, but he has quite a way to go when it comes to ruling the Twitter universe. That realm belongs to Gaga, who has more than 27.8 million followers, with Bieber a hair behind at 25.8 million and Perry gaining ground at #3 with 24.2 million. Em, meanwhile, is way down on the list at #19 with 11.8 million followers.

REPORT: Joe Simpson Gay Confession Shocks Family!

A family friend recently revealed to the media that the center of Joe Simpson’s divorce was that he had been a closet gay! That is just too much for me to handle.

Listen, I’m a huge Jessica Simpson fan. Watching her reality show Newlyweds made me feel like I could have been accepted into Harvard–I mean the girl was so joyfully dumb. That didn’t stop me from being a major fan.

Once she left her Nick Douchey, I started to lose a little bit of interest. The Dukes Of Hazard movie didn’t do it for me, and her running off with a football star pretty much ended my interest.

Then, suddenly she was pregnant. Her baby popped out, and now her father is reportedly gay. What is the world coming to? I have no problem with my gays–I love them, but this one is pretty surprising for the youth pastor turned pop superstar manager.

Apparently Jessica is pretty shocked, too. RadarOnline quote a “source” as saying:

“Jessica had absolutely no clue that her father was gay, not even the slightest inkling…she thinks she has very good gaydar, especially since a lot of her friends are gay, but she did not see this coming at all.”

Wow. So Jessica’s “gaydar” didn’t pick up any blips for her own father?

Anyway, most of the former pop superstar’s concern is for her mother, who must be feeling awful. The source said:

“It was a complete shock to the system, she feels terribly for her mom who was left reeling by the announcement and her sister Ashlee has also taken the news quite badly.”

Taking it quite badly? You learn that your father has been in gay hiding the whole time he was with your mother and you are taking it “quite badly?”

Something stinks in all of this.

It’s worth mentioning that Joe has yet to confirm the rumors. Do you think they’re true?

The song gets a bit dirtier and introspective thanks to verses from the guys that play up the track's bumping beat.Wiz kicks it off, rapping about designer clothes and his lady love, Amber Rose. "OK, I'm young and I'm tatted/ I get them bucks like an addict/ Rocking this Christian Dior/ I spend so much on my fabric/ I got a wifey at home/ And what she wants she can have it," he spits before going on about chilling on the beach, being rich and his prowess in the bedroom.Sitting in between Wiz and Tip is Andre's recycled verse, before T.I. gets his shot and gets sexy, asking Ke$ha, "Do you know what to do with me?" before he launches into a verse all about how good he is to the ladies. "Bad bitches know me/ So don't bother introducing me/ They want me more than diamonds," he brags before explaining that it has a lot to do with his impressive anatomy.Wayne closes it out, adding his own signature flair. Sources say Mother Monster and the starlet might work together for a clip from ARTPOP, but Lohan's rep is 'not confirming' reports.

UPDATED R.I.P. Rapper Natina Reed Of The Group BLAQUE, DEAD At 32

Rapper Natina Reed, 32, of the group Blaque, was killed after being struck by a car in Atlanta yesterday. Deets inside....

Natina Reed, a member of the group Blaque, was killed after being struck by a car (the day before her 33rd birthday) while walking across the street in Atlanta last night. A source close to Natina confirmed the fatal accident to TheYBF.com.

Natina first rose to national attention with the R&B hit "808" after being signed to Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes' production company. Ironically, Left Eye was also killed in a car accident.

Outside of music, Natina dabbled in acting and made appearances in Bring It On with Gabrielle Union (pictured above) and "V.I.P." with Pamela Anderson. Natina is survived by her 10-year-old son Tren Brown, with rapper Kurrupt.

*UPDATE* Natina's two groupmates, Brandi Williams & Shamari Fears-Devoe (pictured above) have released a statement. Here it is in full:

On Behalf of Blaque and the entire Left Eye Music Family,

"We are devastated by the loss of our group member, sister and friend Natina Reed. Because of the enormous support of Blaque fans and our love for each another, Blaque officially reunited this fall and we were in the process of working on a new album and a reality show. Natina continuously embodied the pioneering spirit of Blaque and her undeniable creativity touched the hearts of fans everywhere. Natina was a mother, sister, accomplished songwriter, artist and friend. We ask for your prayers at this time for Natina's family. She will forever be missed and her global influence eternally felt. We thank God for the experiences we shared."

Neither Natina's family nor Kurrupt have released statements yet about her death.

*UPDATE 2* Natina's accident was not a hit-and-run as previously reported, according to Gwinnett County Police Department.

Naomi Watts Smiles With Her Sons

Mom-of-two Naomi Watts was photographed hailing a cab with her sons Sasha, 5, and Kai, 3, in New York City on Friday (October 26). The trio were seen the day before biking in their Manhattan neighborhood.

Last weekend, the Diana star and her boys were seen arriving at Los Angeles International Airport. No sign of papa, fellow actor Liev Scheriber, on either of the outings.

“I suppose I might consider having another child — if someone could guarantee me it would be a girl,” Naomi recently said.

She added: “Two boys can be a lot to handle and sometimes you think it would be easier with two girls playing with their tea sets and dolls. But Liev loves having two boys.”

Naomi is set to play Princess Diana in the biopic, Diana. Liev lights up the big screen next in The Reluctant Fundamentalist.

Liev is also set to hit the Broadway stage next month in the annual 24 Hour Plays.

The event features six ten-minute plays that are written, rehearsed, and performed within a 24-hour period.
