News Roundup: Kanye West, Jay-Z Announce Separate Tours, Pixies Release Music Video, and More

Kanye West is taking his Yeezus on Tour. The rapper has announced 23 dates; the first will be in mid-October. But he’s not the only super famous rapper who’s going on tour later this year – his buddy Jay-Z has also revealed a series of tour dates, set to kick off in late November.   • Avril Lavigne Announces Album: Avril Lavigne has announced that she’ll release a self-titled album on November 5th. According to NME, the record will feature Marilyn Mason and her husband, Nickleback‘s Chad Kroeger. Lavigne stated that the album will have “heavier” songs, with titles like “Bad Girl,” “You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet,” and “Falling Fast.” She said, “We’ve got these pop-rock tunes, and then these piano ballads with orchestra.”
  • Pixies To Release Series Of EPs: The Pixies have announced a new EP. According to Pitchfork, it’s the first in a series of mini-released the band plans to release over the next 15 months. The first EP, titled EP-1, is now available digitally and in a limited-edition 10″ vinyl run of 5,000. The band also released a music video for Indie Cindy. Check it out below:

  • Kanye West Announces Tour: Kanye West will tour North America to support his latest record Yeezus, starting this October. The tour will make stops in cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, Boston and New York City. Kendrick Lamar will be West’s opening act in most shows. Tickets go on sale next Friday, September 13.

  • Jay-Z Going On Tour: Jay-Z has also announced a tour of his own. The rapper will hit the road in November to support his latest album Magna Carta Holy Grail. He’ll be stopping at venues across the country, in cities like Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago and Brooklyn. The tour will kick off November 30 in St. Paul.
