Sam Claflin has now been cast to play Finnick Odair of ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’. Get the news below.
It’s official! Actor Sam Claflin is now Finnick Odair of the ‘The Hunger Games’ second installment ‘Catching Fire’. Fans will recognize Claflin from ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ where he played William. Now the 26-year old will take on the character who is the victor of District 4.
Odair eventually forms a loyal alliance with the movie’s lead characters Peeta, played by Josh Hutcherson, and Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss. He is also part of the 75th annual Hunger Games.
The forthcoming ‘Catching Fire’ will debut with the aftermath of Katniss and Peeta’s victory at the annual event. The story will then chronicle the duo’s fight to stay out of harms way after they are declared rebellious haters of the Capitol.
Aside from the news of Sam Claflin’s casting, ‘The Hunger Games’ has also enlisted a number of new actors to portray the interesting characters of the Suzanne Collins adaption.
In recent weeks actor Alan Ritchson of ‘Smallville’ has been tapped to play Gloss, Jena Malone as Johanna Mason, Amanda Plummer as Wiress, Meta Golding in the role of Enobaria, Stephanie Leigh Schlund as Cashmere and more.
Hunger’s newcomer Sam Cliflin, brings with him a pretty hefty resume that includes the TV shows ‘White Heat’, ‘Any Human Heart’ and ‘The Pillars of the Earth’. He has also appeared in the films ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ and ‘United’. Currently the star is working on the 2013 flick ‘Belle’, ‘Overdrive’, ‘Mary & Martha’ the TV movie and ‘The Quiet Ones’.
